A discussion of any two crossover SUVs has to cover interior cargo and passenger volume. All versions of the 2021 Honda CR-V have two rows of seats that can hold five people. The 2021 VW Tiguan is available in two configurations, two and three rows. While some Tiguan models may have additional passenger seating, this will come at the cost of available cargo volume and rear-passenger legroom. The 2021 Honda CR-V makes 39.2 cubic-feet of cargo volume available behind the rear row, which can be folded down to make up to 75.8 cubic-feet available. A two-row Tiguan comes up just short of these marks at 37.6 cubic-feet and 73.6 cubic-feet, respectively. A three-row version of the 2021 Tiguan offers a maximum of 65.7 cubic-feet. All 2021 CR-V models have more legroom than any Tiguan model.
