Performance Specs
Every version of the 2021 Honda Pilot coming to the Meridian Honda showroom will have a performance advantage over a corresponding 2021 Volkswagen Atlas. Honda continues to employ a naturally aspirated 3.5-liter, V-6 engine that will be attached to a nine-speed automatic transmission. It will produce 280 horsepower and 262 pound-feet of torque. On the other hand, the 2021 VW Atlas can be outfitted with one of two available engine options. Base models will use a turbocharged, four-cylinder power plant, with upper trims implementing a V-6. Neither VW engine will produce as much horsepower as the 2021 Pilot, turning out 235 and 276 horsepower, respectively.
Additionally, a 2021 Pilot with two-wheel-drive will be able to tow up to 3,500 pounds and those models with all-wheel-drive can pull as much as 5,000 pounds. The 2021 Atlas can tow 2,000 or 5,000 pounds, depending on which engine and drivetrain combination a customer chooses.
