For the new model year, the 2019 Honda Pilot makes a few important upgrades available across the three-row crossover SUV’s trim ladder. One of the most important improvements makes the Honda Sensing® suite of active driver assistance system universally available on every trim of the 2019 Pilot. Volkswagen does offer a similar safety solution, but customers need to work their way up the Atlas’ trim ladder to realize its full capability. Performance Specs
All versions of the 2019 Honda Pilot employ the same engine. Under the hood of the three-row crossover SUV is equipped with a 3.5-liter, V-6 engine. That engine will be attached to a six-speed automatic transmission on the LX, EX, EX-L and EX-L Navi/RES trims. Touring and Elite models of the 2019 Pilot get the automaker’s new nine-speed automatic gear-changer. Regardless of transmission, the 2019 Honda Pilot will make 280 horsepower and 262 pound-feet of torque. Entry-level iterations of the 2019 VW Atlas uses a turbocharged, 2.0-liter, four-cylinder engine and makes 253 horsepower. A V-6 can also be equipped with the Atlas and it makes 276 horsepower.
