2020 Honda Pilot vs. 2020 Toyota Highlander

Crossover SUVs have risen to the top of the automotive industry by being able to meet a wide range of customer needs. Within the new vehicle lineup available at the Meridian Honda showroom, the largest and most capable crossover SUV available, the Honda Pilot, continues to attract challengers from across the industry. A comparison of the 2020 Honda Pilot vs. 2020 Toyota Highlander will give potential buyers an easier way to make their next, or first, Honda crossover SUV purchase. The 2020 Pilot is able to compete with the newly redesigned 2020 Highlander in overall performance, passenger capacity and maximum cargo volume. Buyers will have six 2020 Pilot trim grades to consider, LX, EX, EX-L, EX-L Navi/RES, Touring and Black Edition. Meridian Honda customers can start the pre-ordering process today by calling, 601-693-4651.

In terms of available features, the 2020 Honda Pilot and its 2020 Toyota Highlander are very evenly matched. Both the 2020 Pilot and 2020 Highlander can be outfitted with a smartphone-compatible infotainment system that will offer access to the Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ suites of applications. This feature is equipped with EX trims and higher. Additionally, both crossover SUVs offer a mobile internet connection (Touring, Elite and Black Edition) and a wireless phone charger (Elite and Black Edition). The two vehicles are fairly evenly matched in legroom measurements for the first and second rows of seats. However, the 31.9 inches of maximum legroom for third-row passengers is more than what the same seat in the 2020 Highlander can offer. Cargo volume is another area where the two crossover SUVs are evenly matched.

Performance Specs

Every 2020 Honda Pilot available at the Meridian Honda showroom will be equipped with a naturally aspirated 3.5-liter, V-6 engine. The LX, EX, EX-L and EX-L Navi/RES trims will use a six-speed automatic transmission, with the remaining Touring, Elite and Black Edition models employing a nine-speed automatic. Both powertrain combinations will make 280 horsepower and 262 pound-feet of torque. A 2020 Pilot with two-wheel-drive will be able to tow 3,500 pounds and a version with all-wheel-drive will have a towing capacity of 5,000 pounds. The 2020 Toyota Highlander uses a very similar engine that makes slightly more power. However, the 2020 Highlander has the same maximum towing capacity as the 2020 Honda Pilot.
