2020 Honda Passport vs. 2020 Volkswagen Tiguan

The Honda Passport has only been around for a few years and it continues hold customer interest as much as it did on its first day on sale at Meridian Honda. A comparison of the 2020 Honda Passport vs. 2020 Volkswagen Tiguan will help shoppers make a tough decision when they are trying to pick their next, or first, crossover SUV. Meridian Honda customers will be able to choose among four trim grades when they’re considering the 2020 Passport, Sport, EX-L, Touring and Elite. Even a high-altitude view of the two crossover SUVs will show that the Honda Passport offers more standard performance, better towing capacity across the board and more maximum cargo volume. Anyone interested in the 2020 Honda Passport can start the pre-ordering process today by calling, 601-693-4651.

All four trim grades of the 2020 Honda Passport have two rows of seats that can hold five passengers. Volkswagen does offer a three-row version of the 2020 Tiguan, but that will come at the cost of some available options and cramped passenger comfort dimensions – especially for people sitting in the rear-most seats. However, regardless of how someone chooses to outfit a 2020 Tiguan, the 2020 Honda Passport will be able to offer more interior cargo volume. When the Honda crossover SUV has people in the backseat, there will more than 41 cubic-feet of cargo volume to use. Folding the back seats of the 2020 Passport down will have 77.5 cubic-feet or more for owners to use. Both two- and three-row versions of the 2020 Tiguan will come up short in cargo volume – regardless of configuration.

Performance Specs and Fuel Economy

Owners of any of the four versions of the 2020 Honda Passport will have a naturally aspirated 3.5-liter, V-6 engine under the hood that will be attached to a nine-speed automatic transmission. It will produce 280 horsepower and 262 pound-feet of torque. Meridian Honda choosing the Sport, EX-L and Touring trims can choose either front- or all-wheel-drive. The top of the line Elite model is only available with all-wheel-drive. A 2020 Passport with front-wheel-drive can tow up to 3,500 pounds and AWD models can pull as much as 5,000 pounds. The 2020 Volkswagen Tiguan uses a turbocharged four-cylinder engine. Not only does it not make as much power as power plant employed by the current Passport, but VW Tiguan owners will also only be able to tow 2,000 pounds.
