Will Honda be adding a new electric vehicle to its lineup?
As we get closer to the prospect of eliminating fossil fuels from our lives, automakers like Honda need to stay ahead of the curve when it comes to developing the next stage of vehicle technology. So, will Honda be adding a new electric vehicle to its lineup? This is a good news/bad news situation. Yes, Honda will be sending its new electric vehicle concept into production. However, it appears as though the all-new Honda E platform will NOT be coming to the United States. Motor Trend magazine published a brief look at what the automaker’s newest electric vehicle will offer to owners outside of the U.S. With any luck, the powers that be at Honda will bring this vehicle, or at least the EV technology to American dealerships, like Meridian Honda in the future.

How good would the Honda E be?
As we read more of the Honda E profile from Motor Trend and author Ed Tahaney, the sadder we get that this vehicle isn’t going to be coming to American shores. Honda is building its new electric vehicle with rear-wheel-drive that employs an electric motor powered by a water-cooled lithium-ion battery pack.

One of the most innovative features will be the Honda E’s rapid charging system that is reported to deliver an 80 percent charge in about 30 minutes. Multiple types of plugs can be used to replenish the battery, including a Type 2 AC connection or a CCS2 DC rapid charger.
The Honda E would be great for people who mostly stick to city driving, with its quick-charging capability and a maximum estimated range of 125 miles. Engineers have placed the charging port on the hood and built-in an LED-based system that will use changing colors to let people know how much the battery has been charged.
Where will the Honda E be available?
Honda has already seen a fair amount of interest in the Honda E in several European markets like the United Kingdom, Germany, France and Norway.
