When do I schedule a Honda lease-end inspection? 

There is no way we could undersell the value found in leasing a Honda vehicle. The automaker’s financial services arm has really done an excellent job ensuring that the entire process is as customer-friendly and convenient as possible. However, it’s not uncommon for people to get confused about how to go about getting ready to finish their lease contract. If you’re wondering, ‘When do I schedule a Honda lease-end inspection,’ a few Meridian Honda product experts got together to compile this handy guide. According to some information released by Honda Financial Services, lease holders should schedule their inspection at least 60 days before the contract is completed. Let’s take a look at some other helpful information.

Why do I have to get a lease-end inspection? 

When someone leases a vehicle, the money they pay every month essentially pays for the vehicle’s depreciation in value. To be sure, there is a certain amount of wear-and-tear that is to be expected. The lease-end inspection gives customers a chance to see what may or may not be considered too much wear-and-tear. Once the inspection is complete, the lease-holder can have the damage fixed so they don’t incur additional charges when they turn in the vehicle. Some of the things the inspector will be looking for includes: 

• Scratches longer than 3 inches 
• Dents measuring more than 1½ inches around 
• Tires with a tread depth of fewer than 4/32 of an inch 
• Rips, tears or stains on the upholstery 

A customer will need to have their Honda Financial Services account number and the vehicle identification number when scheduling their lease-end inspection. Appointments for the inspection can be set by calling 1-800-340-4080. 

What do I do after the inspection is complete? 

After the vehicle is properly inspected and any damage is repaired, the customer can contact Meridian Honda to return their vehicle. On the day the vehicle is being returned, make sure you have the following items: 

• All sets of keys 
• Owner’s manual and maintenance receipts 
• Honda Vehicle Return Receipt 
• Vehicle Inspection Report 
• Repair records/receipts
