Autumn in Lauderdale County, MS is a special time. Not only is the weather starting to get cooler, but it’s also football season! Autumn carries a lot of nostalgia for many people. From trips to the local pumpkin patch to visits to a haunted house, many people have special traditions that they honor this time of year. If fall isn’t the same without pumpkins and Halloween, then we have some ideas for you. Consider checking out the Bailey Haunted Firehouse this year or planning a visit to the Lazy Acres pumpkin patch and corn maze.

Another great way to enjoy the countdown to Halloween and learn some history about our beautiful city is by attending the Rose Hill Cemetery Costumed Tour on September 29 from 7-9 p.m. This free event is essentially a cemetery tour led by local actors dressed as historic citizens from our city. Be sure to bring your flashlights!
You can also enjoy the beautiful autumn weather this season by participating in the Pumpkin Run 5K and 1M Fun Run on October 20 from 8-10 a.m. at Bonita Lakes. There will also be a Walk to End Alzheimer’s on October 6 from 7:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m., at Bonita Lakes, MS.
