Is the Honda Civic getting redesigned soon?
The Honda Civic is one of the most ubiquitous and recognizable models in the global automotive industry. Our manufacturing partner has produced and sold nearly 12 million Civic platforms since the model’s introduction in 1973. In modern times, the last time a refreshed Civic arrived at the Meridian Honda showroom was 2016. This has led a lot of people to ask our product experts, ‘Is the Honda Civic getting redesigned soon?’ Honda announced that a next-generation Honda Civic prototype will be introduced via the online streaming platform, Twitch, on Nov. 17. We are not sure what this presentation will reveal and how much of what we see will make it into the production model, but it will be interesting. Let’s take a closer look at what we could see.

What will the new Civic prototype offer?
Honda is naturally being pretty tight-lipped about what a Civic prototype will offer. Leading automotive new website, AutoBlog, closely examined the teaser image and the accompanying teaser video to try to tease out a few additional details. The post was written by Joel Stocksdale and his insights include that the Civic prototype will have, ‘…a longer, flatter nose with wide headlights.’ His Nov. 12 post also includes some spy shots that could lead to some additional insights. We would love to share them with you but that’s not how copyright laws work. You can click on the AutoBlog tweet embedded on this blog post to see them for yourself.
Why is the Honda using Twitch?
Anyone interested in what the 11th-generation Honda Civic will have to offer, they will need to head over to the Honda Head2Head Twitch channel to watch the presentation. It will start at 3 p.m. local time with performances by a Grammy-nominated artist. The automaker chose this method to unveil a potential new Civic because of the platform’s position as entry-level model that will start a person’s journey with the automaker.
