2019 Honda Civic picks up new Sport trim this year

The sedan version of the 2019 Honda Civic has arrived at the Meridian Honda showroom. Buyers looking for a compact sedan that is well-equipped, nimble and fuel-efficient would do well to schedule a test drive with a representative from the dealership today. However, the manufacturer added a new trim to the popular model’s lineup – which is also currently for sale or lease at Meridian. After taking a look at the features and performance specs of the 2019 Honda Civic Sport, we think it will only widen the gap between the rest of the class. The all new trim employs the latest engine technology, striking a balance between performance and efficiency as well as offering several cutting-edge connectivity features.

What’s under the hood?
Future owners of the 2019 Honda Civic Sport will have a naturally aspirated 2.0-liter, four-cylinder engine under the hood that can be attached to a six-speed manual transmission or a continuously variable transmission. Both powertrain setups will produce 158 horsepower and 138 pound-feet of torque. Sedan and coupe versions of the 2019 Civic Sport both use the same engine/transmission combination.
Additionally, owners can expect to find excellent fuel economy scores with the 2019 Honda Civic Sport. Four-door models with the manual transmission will record 25 miles per gallon in the city* and 36 miles per gallon on the highway. Buyers opting for the CVT will see up to 29 mpg in the city* and 37 mpg on the highway*. Coupe models with the six-speed manual will be able to achieve 25 mpg in the city* and 35 mpg on the highway* with CVT-equipped versions posting 29 mpg in the city* and 36 mpg on the highway*.
Connectivity and safety features
The 2019 Civic Sport joins the rest of the compact platforms roster in having Honda Sensing® as standard equipment, including the new automatic high beam system. Drivers won’t have to worry about blinding on-coming traffic by forgetting to switch the brights off, the 2019 Civic Sport does it automatically. Additionally, the 2019 Honda Civic Sport features the same Display Audio infotainment system that is found on the base LX trim grade. It will be able to use the most popular applications from the Apple CarPlay™ and Android Auto™ suites.
